Ray White

Ray D. White, Democrat Magistrate District 1

White is the son of Harold and Barbara White and grandson of the late Ray and Ethel Hall White. He has been married to Marisa Virzi White for 19 years and they have three children, Laura, Maria, and Ray Jr. White is a life-long member of Morehead First Baptist Church and past church Deacon.

He graduated from Rowan County High School, Morehead State University, and the National Hardwood Lumber Association Inspection School, Memphis, Tennessee, and is currently president of Harold White Lumber Inc. 

White served as President of the Morehead/Rowan County Chamber of Commerce in 1995-96 and has been a member of the Economic Development Board. He served as a paramedic for the Morehead/Rowan County Emergency Medical Services and is a 19-year member of the Morehead Fire Department. He has held various ranks, including captain, and currently holds level one instructor certification for Kentucky fire service. White is an active board member of "From the Heart Inc." and has assisted in providing A.E.D.s and CPR training and education to Rowan and surrounding counties. He is a former Advisory Member for Rowan Vocational Technical College. 

White served for seven years as a Kentucky Forest Industries Association director and for six years on the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers Association Board of Directors. He is a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Industry Board of Directors and serves on the Finance and Education Services Committees. A 1995 graduate of the National Leadership Development Program, he is currently committee chairman for NHLA’s Forest Resources. For the past 14 years, he has been elected Trustee of the Kentucky Forest Industry Workers Compensation Fund.

White currently serves on the Kentucky Commission on Small Business Advocacy and has traveled with state government officials on European and England Trade Missions to attract industry to Kentucky.

White's business background and experience in overseeing finances, annual budgets, and strategic planning for many organizations will be advantageous as magistrate of the Rowan County Fiscal Court. "As a life-long resident of Rowan County who has served in many community endeavors, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve residents of this great county as Magistrate District One."
